Terms of Service

These terms apply to calibration and test & tag services supplied byAmptech Pty Ltd (AmpTech). If we have a separate signed agreement with you, that agreement takes precedence over these terms.

Quotes

Quotes are provided in writing and are based on the equipment list and information you give us. A quote is an estimate until accepted, and it may change if the equipment presented differs from what was described, or if additional work is found to be necessary. Where the scope changes, we will tell you before proceeding. Quotes are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise, and are exclusive of GST unless stated otherwise.

Scope of our services

We calibrate instruments within the disciplines and ranges covered by our reference standards. Calibration is performed in our Caversham laboratory; test & tag is performed at your premises. If an instrument falls outside our capability, we will tell you up front rather than attempt it.

AmpTech operates an ISO 9001 certified quality management system and our calibrations are traceable to national standards.AmpTech is not NATA accredited. If your scope requires NATA-endorsed calibration, tell us before you book and we will say so and point you to a suitable provider.

Certificates and registers

A calibration certificate records the condition of the instrument as-found and as-left, at the time of calibration, under the conditions stated on the certificate. It is not a warranty that the instrument will remain within specification for any period afterwards — drift, damage, misuse and environment all affect an instrument in service.

Similarly, a test & tag register records the result of the inspection and electrical tests carried out on the date shown. It does not warrant the continued safety of equipment that is subsequently damaged, modified or misused.

Where an instrument cannot be adjusted back into specification, the certificate will state that, and we will discuss the options with you.

Recall reminders

We may record your next-due dates and send reminders as a courtesy. Those reminders are a convenience, not a transfer of responsibility — responsibility for keeping your equipment calibrated and compliant remains with you.

Your equipment

You warrant that equipment you send us is safe to handle and free of contamination, and that you are entitled to have it calibrated. We take reasonable care of equipment in our possession. Please back up any stored data before sending an instrument, as calibration or adjustment may reset it.

Payment

Payment terms are set out on the quote or invoice. Title to any parts or consumables supplied passes on payment in full. We may withhold release of equipment or certificates where an account is overdue.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising out of the services is limited, at our option, to re-supplying the services or paying the cost of having them re-supplied. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of production, downtime or loss of profit.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia.
