Thermometer calibration for mining

Maintenance crews check bearing, motor and hydraulic temperatures with handheld thermometers, and site laboratories use them in sample preparation. Those readings feed condition-monitoring and process records that are reviewed at audit.

Digital thermometers are everywhere from food production to HVAC commissioning, and each one carries a probe that ages faster than the display. AmpTech calibrates handheld digital thermometers and probes in our Caversham lab against a reference thermometer traceable to national standards, at points across your working range.

Setting the interval

Twelve months is standard. Thermometers used in food safety or in regulated storage checks are frequently placed on 6 months, and probes that see hot processes or cleaning chemicals age faster still.

Can you calibrate several probes for one readout?

Yes. Send all the probes and the readout together and each probe is calibrated with it and listed on the certificate.

Do you calibrate the probe with the thermometer?

Yes, and that is the point — send the probes you actually use, and each one is checked with the readout so the certificate reflects the combination you measure with.

Which temperature points do you use?

Points you specify between −25 °C and +140 °C, typically covering the low, middle and high ends of the range you actually work over. Tell us the temperatures that matter to your process and we will include them. Above 140 °C is outside our range and we will say so rather than certify part of the scale.
